Illinois High School Combine

Illinois High School Combine

The word "Combine" is a well-known term to all college football players who are trying to be selected by the National Football League. Every year the top college football players from around the nation are invited to attend and workout in the NFL Combine that takes place in Indianapolis, IN. During this time, each player is evaluated by scouts and coaches from the NFL. The results of each evaluation, along with a player’s college performance, are used to identify the top players for the draft.

Decatur Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy is proud to be the major sponsor in developing the Illinois High School Combine for evaluating performances of the top high school football players in the state. Special thanks is extended to David Jones, MS, ATC of Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL for the original concept of a High School Combine and for his assistance in bringing this program to the State of Illinois .

During the Illinois High School Combine, the athletes will perform a variety of skills and agility drills specific to their positions, which will showcase their talents, improve their exposure, and possibly lead to scholarship opportunities.

The Illinois High School Combine will take place during the May football evaluation period. Since we are inviting the top football players in the State of Illinois, this will be an excellent opportunity for colleges to evaluate potential recruits.
